The Conversations at BIS: How Mobile Apps Are Transforming Homebuilding

Download the BIS app on Apple and Android.

The world of searching for new homes is changing to include the digital buyer. The most innovative way to create happier buyers, increase social media presence, add more traffic to a website, and most importantly, more referral sales, is the sharing of a personalized mobile app.

According to the National Association of Realtors, 90 percent of consumers now start their real estate journeys on the Web. More than eight out of 10 home buyers are accessing home information on their smart phones and computer tablets, according to the California Association of Realtor’s “2013 Survey of California Home Buyers.”

The survey found 85 percent of buyers used a mobile device during the home buying process, with the majority of buyers (70 percent) accessing the Internet from their smart phones and 15 percent accessing it from their tablets.

Many of the most popular mobile properties are mainly accessed via mobile apps instead of mobile browsers, according to Statista. With those mobile apps homebuyers can educate themselves, not only on the home, but the neighborhood itself.

There are apps to connect buyers with the building progress of their home, stay in contact with real estate agencies, and keep up to date on new and current listings. Industry experts on all things mobile apps will be at this year’s Building Industry Show to reveal some of those innovative apps and speak about how mobile apps are transforming homebuilding forever.
