The Design Trends presentation will cover all aspects of what designs you might see in 2017 from concept to finish including: hot areas, interior to exterior on Single Family, Multi Family and if Live/Work trends will continue. This will be a workshop geared for builders and trades.

Before starting his own firm in 2000 Kevin gained valuable experience working for two leading residential architecture firms as well as an in-house architect for two major pub-lic new homebuilders.
Kevin L. Crook Architect, Inc. is a full service architectural firm specializing in provid-ing residential, commercial, and retail architecture to builders and developers through-out the Western United States. KLCA’s designs have been featured in leading industry publications and have been recognized with numerous design awards. Kevin has participated as a judge for major building industry design awards programs. + Robert Sawyer, President-Principal, Land Concern
Rob’s landscape construction industry exposure came early in life through his father’s busi-ness as a landscape contractor and retail nursery owner for over fifty years. Rob grew up working with his father and that was the beginning of what is now a long and successful career as a licensed landscape architect. He founded his own Landscape Architecture firm in 1974 with a desire to do what he loves and has been at it ever since.
Rob’s reputation in his profession and in the building industry at large is well-established and he is known for his expert and level-headed approach to landscape architecture and planning solutions. Rob has been the recipient of many industry awards and his hands-on management style has resulted in the development of several key industry leaders.
Rob’s contributions to each project have helped to maintain Land Concern’s reputation as a progressive leader in the industry while producing the highest quality designs and drawings. Rob’s door is always open and he welcomes the opportunity to guide and mentor all of Land Concern’s design teams to help ensure that we meet and exceed our clients’ wishes to the exacting standards that Land Concern has developed.
+ Karen Moyer, Leed AP, Senior Architectural Color Designer, Senior Associate WHA
Karen has been part of the WHA Color & Materials Studio for over 13 years She has worked with a wide variety of builer/developer clients on residential, multifamily, mixed use and custom products. Her color design activities include color selection, specification, client presentation, materials research, and color /material packages for submittal documentation.
In addition to creating color design solutions at WHA, she is an interior designer, computer graphic designer and artist. She earned her interior design degree from Interior Designers Insititute in 2005. Her professional background also includes marketing management in the financial services sector. She is also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the Orange County Museum of Art.
+ Amber Weigel, Vice President of Design Centers for Vintage Design
In her role, Amber Weigel oversees both the design team and the showroom product offering decisions at Vintage Design. Her main focus is on creating an energized, cutting edge design center experience where families are able to see their dream home come to life.
In her 14 years of experience, she has worked with countless builders and clients creating livable, beautiful spaces that reflect the families who call them home. She is most proud of the work she does as a mentor and leader, helping to shape the next generation of talented designers in the building industry.

Jeff Addison is Director of Design at Kevin L. Crook, Architect Inc. specializing in Single family and Multi-family Residential, Resort, Mixed Use, and Urban Planning. He has over 20 years of design and planning experience in a wide variety of housing density types internationally and throughout the United States including Hawaii, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Working closely with the client, his approach integrates planning and architecture by balancing quantitative fi-nancial and marketing goals with qualitative timeless place making design principles.
